Anywhere But Here

Mayday Parade, We The Kings, A Rocket To The Moon, and There For Tomorrow. Some old names, and some new ones but all worth talking about.
Anywhere But Here is the newest album from Mayday Parade. They released it October 6, 2009 on Atlantic Records. Their previous album, A Lesson In Romantics,(Fearless Records) was released back in 2006. So Anywhere but Here was highly anticipated. But it also had a lot to live up to with its predecessor being such a huge success. Giving us songs such as "Jamie All Over", "When I Get Home, Your So Dead", and "Miserable At Best". It is definitely a different sound for the band. They have matured over the past 4 years and you can hear that through their music. The first single off of the album is "The Silence", the song is awesome. The album as a whole might take a little getting used. There aren't as many upbeat songs on this album as the last to balance out the slower ballads. But once you get into it you can't get out. Overall i would rate it at an 8, its the same Mayday just a matured sound.
They are also out on tour right now with We the Kings, Rocket to the Moon, and There for Tomorrow on the 2010 Hot Topic Take Action Tour. This tour was amazing, Mayday killed it! Their new set is awesome it has such an awesome blend of their older stuff and new. All of the members of the band are on the same page, and that is what it takes to really put on a show.
There for Tomorrow I have seen a couple of times and had the pleasure of seeing again on this tour. And I must say they are an impressive live band. I listened to their Album A Little Bit Faster and it is good, but not as good as them live, they are definitely a band to keep an eye out for because this is not the last we are going to be hearing from them.
Rocket to the Moon who's popularity kind of crept up on us with the release of their newest album On Your Side. Which was released on October 13, 2009 on Fueled By Ramen, Decaydance Records. They have one single off of this album so far entitled "Mr. Right". Their music is fun especially the song Annabelle...hint hint.
With We the Kings getting so big this maybe one of the last time you will be able to catch them in one of these intimate settings that they are playing now. So make sure you get out and see them while you can. As i said in my previous blog they always put on an awesome show and it was no different this time. One of the fun things that they always do is at least one cover and this past show they did "Mr. Bright side" by The Killers. They have also released a new album recently entitled Smile Kid. It was released on December 8, 2009 on S-Curve Records. They have one single off of it "Heaven Can Wait" which has huge radio play and rocketing them onto a new level of stardom. The album includes "Heaven Can Wait" and "She Takes Me High" acoustic recordings, and an enhanced CD with the "Heaven Can Wait" music video. They also have Demi Lovato singing on one of the songs entitled "We'll Be a Dream". This album is a very different sound then what you are used to from WTK. One of the only songs that has a WTK sound that we think of is "She Takes Me High". Overall I would give this album about a 5 its just not as good as it should be. There was also much hype around it that it was built up to be so much more than what it actually is.
Well as I Leave you i will tell you the same thing go out support your local music scene. Buy Merch, dance and sing along, just have a good time at these shows. If you could comment that would be awesome let me know what you thin and anything you would like to see more of. Thanks
